About The Position

Performs a variety of food and guest service duties under general supervision. Responsibilities vary according to facility needs and may include patient meal tray assembly and delivery, cashiering, food assembly, food serving, and cleaning. This is a PRN, on-call or as-needed role at Intermountain Health Cedar City Hospital in Cedar City, Utah. Availability is needed Sunday through Saturday for three 8-hour shifts between 6:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.; weekend shift assignments are required. The hourly pay range is $17.68–$22.99, based on experience. The position is not benefits eligible.

Requirements

• Obtain a Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by the first day of work.
• Skills in active listening, coordinating tasks with others, guest focus, clear communication, and attention to detail.
• Meet the role’s physical requirements, including reading information and labels, communicating and understanding spoken information, using manual dexterity, lifting and transporting supplies or equipment, standing for long periods, and tolerating temperature extremes and cleaning chemicals.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of experience in customer service, food service, or patient service.
• Demonstrated ability to work with modified diets.
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and present meal trays to patients using the standard process.
• Prepare food according to system standards and recipes, including assembling ingredients and preparing items such as salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit.
• Follow standardized Nutrition Services practices, including those related to the dining experience, meal delivery, and maintaining required stock levels.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and cleaning equipment such as ovens, fryers, and hoods.
• Process cash and credit transactions accurately according to system standards and independently resolve basic customer service issues.
