About The Position

The Nutrition Assistant participates in and supports all aspects of healthcare foodservice operations, working with facility staff to provide optimal nutritional care and excellent customer service to patients, guests, and staff. The role ensures food safety and cleanliness and provides service in accordance with established guidelines and regulations. Success requires attention to food safety, efficient work, excellent service, and reliability as a team member.

The Nutrition Assistant follows healthcare foodservice standards, regulations, guidelines, and procedures; prepares and serves food according to menus and dietary requirements; and supports team members across foodservice functions including cashiering, retail, stocking, cleaning, tray service, dishwashing, food storage, and food preparation.

Requirements

• One year of food service or customer service experience.
• Arizona Food Handler Permit or Arizona ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Cashier experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow healthcare foodservice standards, regulations, guidelines, and procedures, including monitoring food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage.
• Prevent food cross-contamination and adhere to personal hygiene requirements.
• Label food products properly and store food, equipment, and machinery according to regulations and facility guidelines.
• Prepare and serve food according to menu and dietary requirements using required kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of recipe ingredients to respond to food allergy questions or requests.
• Follow organizational standards and guidelines to provide a high-quality patient and customer experience.
• Ensure proper meal portioning and aesthetically pleasing presentation.
• Support team members in foodservice functions including cashiering, retail, stocking, cleaning, tray service, dishwashing, food storage, and food preparation.
