About The Position

The Nutrition Assistant participates in and supports all aspects of healthcare foodservice operations. Working with facility staff, the role helps provide optimal nutritional care and excellent customer service to patients, guests, and staff. The position ensures food safety and cleanliness and provides service in accordance with established guidelines and regulations. Success requires a focus on food safety, efficient work, excellent service, and reliability as a team member.

Requirements

• One year of food service or customer service experience.
• Arizona Food Handler Permit or Arizona ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Cashier experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow healthcare foodservice industry standards, regulations, guidelines, and procedures, including monitoring food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage.
• Prevent food cross-contamination and follow personal hygiene requirements.
• Label food products properly and store food, equipment, and machinery according to regulations and facility guidelines.
• Prepare and serve food according to menu guidelines and dietary requirements, using required kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of recipe ingredients to respond to questions or requests about food allergies.
• Follow organizational standards and guidelines to provide a high-quality patient and customer experience.
• Ensure appropriate meal portions and aesthetically pleasing presentation.
• Support foodservice operations as needed, including cashiering, retail, stocking, cleaning, tray service, dishwashing, food storage, and food preparation.
