About The Position
The Nutrition Assistant assists patients with menu selections and meal service based on physician-ordered diet parameters. The role helps patients select meals that meet dietary requirements and restrictions, receives and responds to calls about patient and guest meal orders, and maintains documentation of food preferences, diet orders, and allergies. The assistant works with assigned nursing units to support the patient experience, assembles meal trays in accordance with selections and dietary requirements, and supports patient and guest satisfaction initiatives. The role also resolves, refers, or reports service quality issues as appropriate and ensures meal service is completed within expected timeframes. The position requires critical-thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment while taking appropriate action. One year of customer service-related experience is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
