Requirements

Working experience in a fastener manufacturing environment.
Experience working with high nickel alloys (A286, Wapaloy, Inconel)
Experience working with multi station National nut forming machines.
Working knowledge of nut forming machinery and procedures.
Ability to inspect parts with variety of inspections instruments.
Knowledge in the use of SPC.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience or equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, angles, radius, ratios and standard units of measurements.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate nut forming machines.
Adjust specific tooling and transfer fingers at each station.
Start machine, observes the operation and inspects first run and sample workpiece to ensure machine conforms to specifications.
Inspects parts using micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools, to ensure compliance with specification.
Reads blueprint or job order for product specification such as dimensions, tolerance, number or parts to be formed and tooling instruction on type tooling required.
Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping and following safety regulations.
Suggest process improvement ideas.
Evaluate and communicate machine condition or concerns to both maintenance and supervision.
