About The Position

The Iowa Department of Corrections is hiring a Nursing Unit Coordinator at Anamosa State Penitentiary in Anamosa, Iowa. This position works the evening shift and performs para-professional nursing duties under the direction of a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse. The role requires medication-passing experience and focuses on proper medication administration and documentation. Duties also include stocking supplies, checking expiration dates, ordering medication cards, and attending required training.

Requirements

• Medication-passing experience.
• The equivalent of two years of full-time clerical work experience involving the use of medical terminology; or current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes the equivalent of one year of full-time work as a Resident Treatment Worker, Pharmacy Assistant, or in a position providing nursing care or clerical work in a state institution providing medical services.
