About The Position

The Nursing Tech will assist with patient care under the supervision of nursing staff. This role involves helping patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, providing comfort and support, observing and reporting patient conditions, performing personal care, documenting care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, stocking supplies, assisting with procedures, and transporting patients.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Minimum age of 18 years
One year’s experience as a nursing assistant or previous health care training
Nurse Aide Certification

Responsibilities

Assist with Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure.
Assist patients with mobility, including transfers between beds, wheelchairs, and other areas, and assist with walking and exercise.
Provide comfort and support to patients and families, developing nurturing relationships and offering emotional support.
Observe patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions, noting any changes and reporting them to the primary nurse/charge nurse.
Perform oral care, hair care, peri care, and catheter care.
Weigh patients and document weight in the appropriate area.
Answer call lights courteously and promptly, and position call lights within reach of the patient.
Maintain accurate patient records and document care activities.
Maintain a clean and safe environment, including changing bed linens, cleaning rooms, and ensuring safety measures like bed alarms are in place.
Replenish medical supplies in patient rooms and other areas.
Assist nursing staff and/or providers with procedures as directed.
Safely transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds, utilizing lift equipment as needed, for treatments, tests, procedures, or activities.
