About The Position
This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting. The Nursing Tech will also monitor and record vital signs, assist with patient mobility including transfers and walking, and provide emotional support to patients and their families. Key responsibilities include observing and reporting changes in patient condition, performing personal care tasks like oral care and catheter care, weighing patients, responding to call lights, maintaining accurate patient records, ensuring a clean and safe environment, stocking supplies, assisting with procedures, and transporting patients using appropriate equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum age of 18.
Nice To Haves
- One-year experience as a nursing assistant or previous health care training preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant, preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration rate, blood pressure).
- Assist with patient mobility, including transfers, walking, and exercise.
- Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and families.
- Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the primary nurse/charge nurse.
- Perform oral care, hair care, peri care, and catheter care.
- Weigh patients and document weight.
- Answer call lights courteously and promptly, ensuring call lights are within reach.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document care activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including changing bed linens and ensuring safety measures like bed alarms.
- Stock and replenish medical supplies.
- Assist nursing staff and/or providers with procedures as directed.
- Safely transport patients throughout the hospital using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds, utilizing lift equipment when necessary.
