About The Position

Under the general direction of The Senior Director of Inpatient and Emergency Services, the Nursing Supervisor serves as the onsite administrator for the hospital for a defined shift. The Nursing Supervisor understands and demonstrates knowledge of the healthcare environment, communication and relationship management, business skills and principals, professionalism, and leadership. The Nursing Supervisor works closely with emergency, inpatient, and operational leadership to act as an administrative liaison to internal hospital departments and external community resources. Through the assessment of clinical indicators and use of critical thinking, the Nursing Supervisor collaborates with RN and physician/LIP teams to effectively allocate clinical resources, coordinate patient placement, and manage hospital operations. The Nursing Supervisor ensures that all clinical staff function within established policies and practice guidelines in accordance with all state, federal, and organizational regulations and standards. The Nursing Supervisor initiates and contributes to staff development, professional practice, quality, performance improvement, and patient experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in critical thinking skills
  • Experience demonstrating professional competence, leadership characteristics and supervisory skills
  • Ability to function and multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Telemetry experience
  • Computer skills including EHR, Outlook and Microsoft Office
  • Meets all core RN and Nursing Supervisor competencies
  • Visibly demonstrates commitment to customer relations and all basic concepts of continuous quality improvement and prevention of errors
  • Current Massachusetts RN licensure
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Consistently treats patients, colleagues and visitors with dignity and respect, while being sensitive to the differing needs of all age groups, backgrounds, characteristics and cultures
  • Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
