About The Position

Beloit Health System is looking to add to our Nursing Supervisor team at Beloit Memorial Hospital. The Nursing Supervisor will provide supervision and direction to the nursing team. This individual will assist with staffing and assignments, place patients in beds, triage patient needs and bed placement, triage phone calls, communicate with leadership, assist with obtaining meds and supplies. The Nursing Supervisor will provide supervision and direction to the nursing teams. Assist with staffing and assignments, placing patients in beds on ordered units, triaging patient needs and bed placement. Triage phone calls from providers, other facilities, and families. Assist with obtaining medications and supplies. Respond to RRTs, MEAs, and alert/codes. Enter surgical cases within the EMR, calling in on-call staff for OR, US, VL/Echo, and STEMI teams as needed. Provide support and education to nursing staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • ADN, Diploma, BSN or MSN degree acceptable.
  • BSN or above approved.
  • State of Wisconsin or multistate nursing licensure required. (Must request WI licensure within 30 days).
  • Must be BLS certified within three months of hire.
  • ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Telemetry trained within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires excellent communication and counseling technique.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply proper procedures to Beloit Health System policies.
  • Employee possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Successful completion of pre-placement physical examination.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including providers, patients and their support system, and the community.
  • Ability to critically think and triage problems.
  • Requires the ability to work independently, and to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
