About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking an Emergency Room Nursing Supervisor to provide leadership to frontline staff in collaboration with the Nursing Manager or Nursing Director. The supervisor serves as a conduit between frontline nursing employees and managers to facilitate communication, oversee orientation of new team members in collaboration with Clinical Educators, and evaluate clinical practice, with a particular focus on quality and performance improvement. The role oversees day-to-day Emergency Room operations and staffing, supports the development and engagement of nursing staff, and contributes clinical support as needed, including charge or direct care. The supervisor collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and promotes a team-oriented environment centered on patient care, safety, and experience.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current Texas RN license.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certifications.
CPI certification required.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop ER nursing staff.
Manage day-to-day operations, staffing, and workflow coordination.
Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Monitor quality metrics and drive performance improvement.
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection prevention standards.
Provide clinical support as needed, including charge or direct care.
Foster a team-oriented environment focused on patient care, safety, and experience.
Conduct rounding, provide feedback, and support staff engagement and retention.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Facilitate communication between frontline nursing employees and managers.
Oversee orientation of new team members in collaboration with Clinical Educators.
Evaluate clinical practice, particularly with respect to quality and performance improvement.
