About The Position

Kindred Hospital Seattle – First Hill is an 80-bed long-term acute care hospital in downtown Seattle. The Nursing Supervisor supervises nursing staff, assesses patients’ needs, and provides nursing care. The role plans and organizes training for unit staff and participates in guidance and educational programs. The supervisor hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates designated nursing staff; assigns duties and coordinates nursing services; contributes to nursing protocols and procedures; and supports continuing education and staff development. The role also assesses patient needs, participates in care delivery, ensures services are appropriately carried out and documented, maintains patient health care records, and maintains supply inventory records and orders supplies and equipment as needed. The position requires approximately 0% travel, regular attendance, and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Valid state Registered Nurse license.
Valid BLS certification.
Two years of nursing experience in a hospital.
One to two years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Supervisory skills and ability to evaluate job performance.
Ability to make decisions and accept responsibility for a work unit.
Time management skills and ability to organize priorities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
Good and regular attendance.
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate designated nursing staff; assign duties and coordinate nursing services.
Participate in developing nursing protocols and procedures.
Provide continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staff.
Assess patient needs, participate in providing nursing care, and ensure services are carried out and documented appropriately.
Maintain patient health care records.
Maintain supply inventory records and order supplies and equipment as necessary.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
