Nursing Station Technician - Lakes Birthplace
About The Position
Fairview is looking for a Nursing Station Technician at the M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN! This position is 60 hours every two weeks on the Night shift, for 12 hour shifts, and every third weekend, and is eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and more. The Birthplace at Lakes Medical Center averages about 525 deliveries annually, and has 6 labor beds, and 9 post-partum rooms. The NST role in this department would be dedicated to learning the direct patient care and Health Unit Coordinator responsibilities for this unit.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
- Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
- Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
- Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program.
- Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with patient care
- Performing receptionist duties on the station
- Maintaining patient care areas
- Assisting in the transfer/positioning and mobility of patients, including assisting with ADLs and general patient care
- Facilitate room turnover
- Audit and maintain unit supplies
- Coordinate activities of nursing station to support patient care staff
- Manage medical record flow and patient care charts
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Perform other tasks as needed
