About The Position

The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) is seeking a Nursing Rehabilitation Technician (NRT) for the night shift. RHI, recognized as a leading rehabilitation hospital, specializes in brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and complex medical conditions. The NRT plays a crucial role in providing direct and indirect patient care activities for rehabilitation patients who do not require constant supervision by a licensed professional. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the NRT operates under the guidance of a licensed nursing team member to deliver essential patient services.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
CPR certification

Nice To Haves

CNA experience preferred
Medical assistant experience preferred

Responsibilities

Observes and reports patient comfort and safety needs, potential problems, and behaviors to the staff nurse for patient assessment and care planning.
Recognizes and reports changes in a patient's health status.
Understands and follows the patient plan of care within job limitations, completing assigned and unassigned duties.
Administers personal care to patients, including bath and skin care.
Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of rehabilitation concepts to meet elimination, nutritional, and psychosocial needs of assigned patients.
Handles patients at all developmental and cognitive levels with patience and tact.
Encourages patients to be active in their care.
Accurately completes documentation in compliance with department and regulatory timelines.
Responds consistently to the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a positive manner.
Demonstrates good judgment in setting own priorities and adapting work schedules and assignments.
Responds quickly to call lights for all patients and offers help to other team members proactively.
Focuses on providing customer satisfaction as a primary goal in all interactions.
