This is a full-time, salaried position within the NICU department, requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The role involves applying ANPD principles and acting in various roles such as advisor, change agent, collaborator, communicator, consultant, facilitator, leader, mentor, and researcher. The specialist will use advanced nursing knowledge to deliver evidence-based nursing and education interventions, bridging knowledge, skill, and practice gaps identified through needs assessments. This includes collecting data, investigating issues, analyzing costs and ROI for learning activities, and transforming processes through change management. The position requires developing context-specific outcomes, establishing plans with strategies and resources, and incorporating learning and behavioral change theories. The specialist will promote knowledge generation and dissemination, role model positive learning environments, assess learner characteristics, create effective learning environments with technology proficiency, and evaluate educational outcomes. They will implement diverse teaching strategies, plan culturally relevant programs, advise on educational materials and strategies, exhibit systems thinking, develop partnerships for healthcare enhancement, and support the transition of nurses and healthcare team members. Mentoring of NEPD generalists is also a component of this role.
