We are seeking a full-time Nurse Manager to work at our Adult Day Program in Hauppauge Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30. Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and NYS Nursing License.
  • Five years related experience and/or training, minimum.
  • NYS Registered Nurse License
  • NYS Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Maintain highest quality professionalism in nursing services.
  • Confer with agency medical staff and other local, state, and federal authorities regarding treatments, confidentiality, and laws.
  • Schedule, organize, assign, train, implement and provide oversight of any and all ADP nursing services.
  • Develop and ensure implementation of nursing care for Adult Day Programs & Services Includes direct hands-on care.
  • Review, revise as needed, and develop Policy and Procedures for Adult Day Programs & Services Nursing per Agency policy & Procedures & Agency Nursing policy & Procedures and as needed for Agency emergency services in buildings serving Adult Day Programs & Services.
  • Participate in Agency Health & Safety Committee, Agency Infection Control Committee, and as needed Disaster Preparedness/Response Committees.
  • May act as consultant to other agency committees, including Quality Improvement & Clinical Oversight.
  • Assist, support and counsel management of Adult Day Programs & Services regarding health and safety issues for program participants & staff.
  • Review nursing budget allocations with program supervisors & Director of ADP. May mean re-design & re-engineering of ADP Nursing staff & services.
  • Maintain supply and equipment orders for nursing.
  • Supervise schedules for all Nursing equipment maintenance.
  • Schedule and arrange for needed nursing coverage of all Adult Day Programs & Services. Includes receiving and making early hour calls for per diem coverage.
  • Assures all regulatory requirements are maintained as per OPWDD, Dept. of Health, OSHA, and any other legal and agency rules, regulations, polices.
  • Responsible for day-to-day medical decisions regarding routine, emergency, and health alerts. When indicated, consults with Medical Director and/or designee and other medical consultants.
  • Supervise R.N./s and related health staff (Program Health Assistants) in the organization and delivery of quality medical/health services to meet the day program needs of participants.
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Also directly supervises one non-supervisory employee.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, Makes recommendations in the hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
