Nursing Instructor, Full-time, Non-tenure-line
About The Position
Jamestown Community College (JCC), a SUNY institution, is seeking a full-time, term (non-tenure-line) nursing education instructor. The primary teaching responsibilities will be on the Jamestown Campus, beginning as soon as possible. This is a term position for one academic year under either a 9- or 12-month contract, subject to renewal. JCC is an innovative, open access institution committed to meeting regional education needs and embracing the diverse identities, histories, and experiences of its community. Requirements
- RN licensure
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (or higher)
- Progress toward a master’s degree in nursing
- Five or more years of clinical experience
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in nursing (or higher)
- At least one year of post-secondary teaching experience
- Demonstrated leadership
Responsibilities
- Teaching a variety of first- and second-year courses in JCC's credit-bearing AAS (RN) Nursing program and/or JCC's credit-bearing Certificate in Practical Nursing.
- Conducting classroom-based lectures.
- Overseeing clinical groups.
- Delivering both individual and group laboratory instruction.
- Engaging in program decision-making regarding curriculum.
- Leading review sessions.
- Collaborating across disciplines to develop new learning opportunities in healthcare fields.
- Moving towards excellence in teaching, advising, and service to the college, the community, and the faculty member's discipline.
