About The Position

Methodist University invites applications for a full-time nursing faculty position in the pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The successful candidate will teach didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses across the undergraduate curriculum. This position is ideal for a nurse educator with a strong generalist foundation who is committed to preparing practice-ready graduates for licensure and professional practice.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
  • Current unencumbered RN license in North Carolina or eligibility for licensure prior to start date
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in adult health, medical-surgical, or critical care nursing
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and evaluate students in classroom and clinical settings
  • Commitment to student-centered teaching and inclusive learning environments

Nice To Haves

  • Earned doctorate in nursing or related field (PhD, DNP, or EdD); ABD candidates with a defined completion timeline will be considered
  • Prior teaching experience in a pre-licensure nursing program
  • Certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., CCRN, CMSRN, PCCN) or nursing education (CNE)
  • Experience with simulation-based education
  • Record of scholarship, professional service, or clinical leadership appropriate to rank

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned didactic, simulation, laboratory, and clinical courses in the pre-licensure BSN program, with emphasis on fundamentals, adult health, medical-surgical, and critical care content
  • Supervise students in acute care clinical settings and maintain effective working relationships with clinical partners
  • Participate in curriculum development, course revision, and program assessment activities aligned with CCNE accreditation standards and North Carolina Board of Nursing requirements
  • Mentor undergraduate nursing students, including support for NCLEX-RN preparation and success
  • Contribute to student recruitment, admission, and progression processes, as assigned
  • Engage in scholarship consistent with rank and university expectations
  • Serve on department, college, and university committees
  • Participate in interprofessional education initiatives within the College of Health Sciences and Human Services
  • Maintain current clinical competence and licensure
