About The Position

Help shape the future of Behavioral Health nursing through education, mentorship, and clinical excellence. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours weekly. The Nursing Education Coordinator – Behavioral Health plays a key role in developing, coordinating, and delivering nursing education programs that support exceptional patient care across our Behavioral Health services. This position partners with nursing leadership to ensure new and existing team members receive high-quality onboarding, ongoing education, competency validation, and evidence-based training that promotes clinical excellence and professional growth. Requirements

  • Associate degree in nursing required
  • At least two (2) years of experience as a registered professional nurse in mental health
  • At least two (2) years of experience in nursing education and training; accredited nursing school staff or hospital nurse training position
  • A valid, unrestricted MO driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
  • Must possess and maintain a current, active Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • Experience and efficiency with healthcare technology software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee Behavioral Health nursing education, onboarding, and ongoing competency training.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver evidence-based educational programs, skills assessments, and training materials.
  • Partner with nursing leadership to identify training needs, address skill gaps, and support workforce development initiatives.
  • Lead annual competency reviews, in-service education, and remediation plans as needed.
  • Coordinate and support the Behavioral Health Medical Assistant training program, including curriculum development, clinical training sites, and student education.
  • Provide education on specialized medications, injection techniques, medical devices, and telehealth technologies.
  • Monitor training completion, maintain required documentation, and prepare education reports for nursing leadership.
  • Travel to regional locations to provide education and clinical support as needed.
  • Support nursing services across Compass Health programs within the RN scope of practice.
