Nursing Clinical Instructor (Adjunct Faculty)
About The Position
Cayuga Community College, a unit of the State University of New York with locations in the cities of Auburn and Fulton, is a two-year community college sponsored by Cayuga County. Committed to being the community college for both Cayuga and Oswego counties, the College offers transfer and career-oriented curricula on a degree and certificate basis through day, evening, online, and summer sessions. For groups such as high school students, government agencies, retirees, and industrial, business and professional personnel, the College also offers credit and credit-free specialized instruction according to need and interest. Requirements
- Current New York State RN license
- BSN required, MSN or active progress towards an MSN degree
- Regionally accredited higher education institution
- Two years related clinical experience
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate student learning within the nursing department's mission, philosophy and conceptual framework
- Implement student-centered learning activities to achieve learning outcomes in clinical
- Evaluate student learning as evidenced by: Nursing care plans, Clinical paperwork, Clinical summative rotation evaluation conferences
- Select patient assignments for clinical experiences
- Facilitate pre and post conferences
- Communicate student progress to Course Coordinator
- Use Brightspace web-enhanced learning management system
- Maintain three office hours weekly for 10-hour position; four office hours weekly for 12-hour position
- Attend appropriate level meetings (3 each semester)
- Attend nursing departmental meetings (1 each semester)
- Serve on nursing ad hoc meetings as desired
- Attend annual Professional Advancement Pinning Ceremony (May)
- Maintain current clinical competency at clinical agency
- Maintain current CPR and health requirements
- Pursue continuing education in area of expertise
- Use evidence-based teaching practices
- Facilitate learning within the framework of the National League for Nursing Core Competencies of Nurse Educators
- Submit Nursing Adjunct Performance Appraisal May 15 one year after hired and bi-annually thereafter
