The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is a Level IV, state-of-the-art 17-bed intensive care unit designed to care for newborns with the most complex medical problems. Our dedicated and highly trained caregivers deliver world-class patient care through an intricate nursing care model that is rooted in evidence-based practice and always puts patients first. Our goal is that all our caregivers provide patients with the highest quality, safest care possible.

Requirements

• A High School diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (required within new hire period)
• Nursing students requires to have Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a medical assisting course
• State Tested Nurse Assistant (STNA)
• Previous healthcare and patient care experience in a hospital

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of an RN.
• Assist with data collection and treatments.
• Perform administrative functions for the unit.
• Observe and report changes in patients’ condition.
• Document activities in the patient care record.
• Assist with transporting and discharging patients.
• Transcribe and process all orders.
• Prepare, maintain and process all charts, filed, records and mail.
• Maintain inventory.
