The Clinical Clerical Nursing Associate role at Cleveland Clinic Akron General supports patient care areas within the Neonatal ICU (NICU). The NICU is a 14-bed, level III unit that opened on November 1, 2024, caring for infants from 22 weeks gestational age up to full term, requiring various supports like full-body cooling, respiratory assistance (CPAP, conventional ventilators, jet ventilator, oscillator), and IV nutrition. The unit also handles high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitations. The team includes 24/7 neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners, along with physical, occupational, and speech therapists, a dedicated dietician, and a respiratory therapy team (Monday-Friday). A NICU Clinical Nurse Specialist provides ongoing education and ensures policy alignment with evidence-based practices. Under the supervision of a Nurse Manager or Registered Nurse, this position involves stocking supplies, performing cleaning, delivering materials, assisting with patient and equipment transport, providing assigned patient care duties, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
