About The Position

The Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Assistant (certified or non-certified), also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele Nursing Assistant, provides basic patient care, monitors vital signs, supports mobility, and helps ensure patient safety for adults recovering from surgery or illness while on heart monitors. The role includes observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment that promotes recovery. Entry-level Nursing Assistants and Certified Nursing Assistants with no prior experience are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
• At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
• Take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
• Help patients get in and out of bed, walk, and use assistive devices.
• Ensure telemetry monitors and leads are properly connected and functioning; promptly alert registered nurses when monitor alarms sound.
• Observe patients for physical changes, such as shortness of breath, chest pain, or altered mental status, and quickly notify nursing staff.
