About The Position

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to patients during scheduled work periods, providing patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This is a full-time CNA position in the surgery department, scheduled 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position also requires call shifts approximately once every 5–6 weeks.

Requirements

Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
For work in North Dakota, if not a Certified Nursing Assistant, be listed on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry after training and competency validation or within four months of initial employment.
For work in Wisconsin, be listed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with current work eligibility, or be a qualifying student nurse enrolled at a school approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing who has completed a basic nursing course and 16 hours of clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

High school graduation or a general equivalency diploma (GED).
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with basic health care needs and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation, and dining needs.
Support patients’ emotional and spiritual needs.
Administer delegated tasks and treatments.
Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
Collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed.
Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
Prepare patient treatment areas and medical equipment for use.
Clean medical equipment and dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.
Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
Provide one-on-one care when necessary for safe care provision.
