About The Position

The Nursing Assistant works alongside physicians and nurses to support primary and specialty nursing services. The role assists patients with daily activities and care, including bathing, meals, transportation, medication administration, and positioning. The Nursing Assistant helps ensure a positive experience for patients and families through alertness, collaboration, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

This is a full-time evening position, working 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., in Davino 1-Orthopedics at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of experience as a Nursing Assistant, in patient care, or another related field, with demonstrated increased responsibility in the healthcare industry.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing personnel in providing direct patient care and assist patients with daily activities.
• Serve and collect food trays and provide between-meal nourishment.
• Change bed linen, run errands, and prepare and sterilize treatment trays and supplies.
• Transport patients within the facility for consultations, treatments, tests, or examinations.
• Measure and record patients’ vital signs, such as temperature or pulse, and provide basic treatment.
• Ensure a safe care environment for patients and their families.
• Perform continuous rounds and check-ins throughout the shift to ensure patient and family needs are met.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
