About The Position

The Nursing Assistant works on the 2F/G Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, a 30-bed unit providing patient-centered care to acute telemetry patients with continuous cardiac monitoring. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and support services to patients and families. The role performs selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel with patient examinations, treatment, and overall care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completion of first-year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; if not already certified, obtain BLS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support services to patients and families under the direction of an RN or other licensed care team member.
• Perform selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in patient examinations, treatment, and overall care.
