About The Position

At Catholic Health, the primary focus is treating and serving communities through collaborative, compassionate care and evidence-based practice. The Nursing Assistant assists with patient care by performing a range of duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The position requires timely, organized care, accurate documentation, and adherence to patient rights and hospital policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of an authorized CNA Training Program, or enrollment in a nursing program with completion of fundamentals of nursing including clinical rotation, or relevant work experience as a nursing assistant and/or personal care aide.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to read and write basic English.

Nice To Haves

• Current emergency department (ED) experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient data collection.
• Provide appropriate care to assigned patients in accordance with the Patient's Bill of Rights.
• Promptly report patient needs to the nurse.
• Organize patient care and complete patient care assignments in a timely manner.
• Reinforce patient instruction.
• Document accurately in the patient's medical record and on other forms.
• Perform treatments and procedures according to established hospital policies and procedures.
