About The Position

The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in providing age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position is in the Short Stay Unit and is part of a part-time weekend program working 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The role includes a 15% shift differential and a 25% weekend differential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
• Six months of experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patients’ reported height and weight on admission.
• Turn and position patients every two hours as indicated, using proper body mechanics.
• Assist patients with activity, ambulation, getting up to a chair, and other activities as ordered.
• Assist patients with personal hygiene, including showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal care, catheter care, and oral care.
• Take and accurately record vital signs within the established time frame.
• Perform hourly rounds consistently to ensure patient safety and promote customer satisfaction.
