About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants provide compassionate care to patients throughout their recovery. The position is at Select Specialty Hospital - St. Louis North, located inside Christian Northeast Hospital, and is PRN on the night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The PRN requirement is four shifts in a six-week period. Compensation is $22 per hour, plus a $1.50 night-shift differential. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered. The hospital provides an extensive Nursing Assistant orientation program, a clinical ladder program, and career-development support. Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Hospital experience as a nursing assistant.
Nursing assistant certification.
Experience in a related field, such as medical assistant work or being an actively enrolled RN student.

Responsibilities

Perform patient care services, including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
Participate in hourly rounds.
Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment, including bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
