About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants provide compassionate care to patients throughout their recovery. The role is PRN on the night shift, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with a requirement of four shifts in a six-week period. The position is located at Select Specialty Hospital - St. Louis North, inside Christian Northeast Hospital. The compensation is $22 per hour, plus a $1.50 night-shift differential. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered. Requirements

High school diploma/GED or at least three years of relevant work experience.
BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Hospital experience as a nursing assistant.
Nursing Assistant certification.
Experience in a related field, such as medical assisting.
Active enrollment as an RN student.

Responsibilities

Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
Participate in hourly rounds.
Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
Keep instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs clean.
Maintain patients’ rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
