About The Position
As a Nursing Assistant at Crittenton Hospital Medical Center (CHMC), part of Henry Ford Health, you provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). You help ensure patients receive compassionate, high-quality care and support the smooth operation of the unit and positive patient outcomes. The position is based at CHMC in Rochester, Michigan.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current AHA BLS certification, or obtain certification within the first week of hire through HEART CODE.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic patient care, including taking vital signs and providing hygiene, feeding, bathing, and post-mortem care.
- Administer basic treatments under RN direction, including preparing procedure setups, measuring intake and output, and applying cold or heat packs.
- Respond promptly to call lights; distribute water and linens; locate equipment; and stock supplies.
- Assist with transporting patients, specimens, and pharmacy orders as needed.
- Perform non-clinical duties assigned by the RN to support unit operations.
- Follow safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality protocols.
