About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital-Grosse Pointe is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants play a central role in providing compassionate care to patients. This per-diem position is located in Detroit, Michigan and involves 12-hour night shifts, with compensation of $23.00 per hour.

The role includes an extensive orientation program to support a smooth transition into the hospital setting. Strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care services, including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
