Nursing Assistant - PRN/Per Diem
About The Position
AtlantiCare Rehabilitation Hospital, in partnership with Select Medical, is a 60-bed medical rehabilitation hospital serving patients in southeastern New Jersey. The hospital provides compassionate inpatient rehabilitation for people facing brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. Its care team includes a physiatrist, rehabilitation nurses, physical, occupational, and speech-language therapists, dietitians, case managers, and other clinical and support staff. The Nursing Assistant helps provide patient care, including collecting vital signs and measurements, assisting with personal care and meals, supporting safe mobility and positioning, and transporting patients. The position is per diem/PRN, with day or night shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and weekday and weekend requirements. Compensation is $21.00 per hour plus competitive shift differentials. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and the potential for advancement to full-time opportunities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or relevant work experience of 3 or more years.
- Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting or active enrollment as an RN student.
- BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
- Assist patients with personal and daily care, including bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
- Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who are unable to feed themselves, and document oral intake.
- Turn and position immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment, and participate in the mobility program.
- Transport patients to designated areas, including to and from treatment centers.
