About The Position

The Nursing Assistant works on 5 North, AnMed’s 18-bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit, which primarily cares for patients with congestive heart failure, patients before and after cardiac catheterization, and patients with atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter undergoing EP study. The role provides personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, monitors and documents patient information, and participates in hourly patient rounds. The unit is described as a fast-paced team environment. AnMed is a not-for-profit health system located in Anderson, South Carolina, with a mission to provide exceptional and compassionate care to all it serves.

Requirements

Completion of an approved nursing assistant training course is required.
Students enrolled in an accredited nursing program who have completed one of the hospital’s approved nursing courses in their program may be eligible; students must provide a college transcript showing successful completion of class requirements.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience is preferred.
RN students may be considered for Student Nurse Technician opportunities.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care, including bathing, skin care, turning and positioning, and meeting toileting needs.
Assist patients with meals, ambulation, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
Obtain and document vital signs and report abnormal results to the patient’s nurse.
Measure and record intake, output, height, and weight.
Participate in hourly patient rounds, assessing pain, positioning, toileting needs, placement of personal items and call light within reach, and whether VTE prophylaxis is in place.
