About The Position

Cayuga Health is hiring a per diem Nursing Assistant for inpatient rehabilitation at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, New York. The role provides direct patient care, including assisting with toileting, ambulation and repositioning; monitoring and recording fluid intake and output and patient weights; obtaining vital signs; and reporting abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to the RN. The Nursing Assistant reinforces patient education, such as incentive spirometer use and fall prevention, maintains a clean and organized bedside area, and intentionally rounds on each patient every hour. Completion of mandatory orientation training is required before starting work on the unit. Orientation lasts one full week, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The position is onsite, with one 8-hour shift per week; 12-hour shifts are preferred. No travel is expected. The stated pay range is $19.47–$25.75 per hour.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
BLS; training will be provided if needed.

Nice To Haves

NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA).
Previous patient care experience.
