About The Position

Nursing Assistant on 4 South, AnMed’s 25-bed Orthopedic and Medical Surgical unit. The unit primarily cares for hip, shoulder, and ankle surgical patients, as well as patients with GI conditions, pneumonia, and diabetes. Requirements

• Completion of an approved nursing assistant training course is required.
• Students enrolled in an accredited nursing program who have completed one of the hospital’s approved nursing courses in their program may be eligible; they must provide a college transcript showing successful completion of class requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience is preferred.
• RN students may be eligible to be considered for Student Nurse Technician opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including bathing, skin care, turning and positioning, and toileting.
• Assist patients with meals, ambulation, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Obtain and document vital signs and report abnormal results to the patient’s nurse.
• Measure and record intake, output, height, and weight.
• Participate in hourly patient rounds, assessing pain, positioning, toileting needs, placement of personal items and call light within reach, and VTE prophylaxis in place.
