About The Position

Serves as a Nursing Assistant in a skilled nursing facility. The position supports residents and patients with activities of daily living, transportation, safety, comfort, and privacy; records vital signs and intake and output as directed; and communicates relevant information to appropriate people. The role also includes answering call bells and alarms, maintaining linens, assisting visitors, and following infection control regulations. The position is onsite at Rex SNF Apex in Apex, North Carolina, and is a full-time day job averaging 36 hours per week.

Requirements

• Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• No education is required as long as all other position requirements are met.

Nice To Haves

• Nursing Assistant experience in a clinical specialty is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs activities of daily living for or with residents and patients.
• Transports residents and patients to designated areas within the facility.
• Changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers the telephone.
• Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output as directed.
• Provides for resident and patient safety, comfort, and privacy while performing responsibilities.
• Communicates pertinent resident and patient information to appropriate people.
• Abides by infection control regulations.
• Successfully completes annual Rehabilitation and Nursing competencies.
• Completes 12 hours of in-service education annually.
• Answers call bells, alarms, or the intercom system and determines residents’ or patients’ needs.
