About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - TriCities is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants provide compassionate patient care in this setting. The role is located in Bristol, Tennessee, and is PRN/per diem with 12-hour day shifts. Compensation is $18.50 per hour.

The hospital provides an extensive orientation program to support a smooth transition into the setting. Demonstrated skills and dedication may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time/per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) eligibility after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience of 3 or more years.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
