Gillette Children's is currently hiring for a Nursing Assistant/Unit Coordinator. This is a 1.0 FTE (40 hrs./pay period) position, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm with some flexibility required for the St. Paul Clinic. This position will support various pediatric specialty clinics through clerical and patient care responsibilities. The purpose of this position is to provide clerical support to the nursing departments through coordination of communication, transcription of provider orders, and maintenance of unit supplies. Patient care is provided by assisting the professional nurse in meeting basic activity of daily living (ADL) needs of the patient while maintaining an orderly and safe physical environment. Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. Care is organized around each patient’s condition, requiring staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities, including efficient and effective communication and adopting behaviors required for high-functioning integrated teams.
