About The Position
Eastside, an affiliate of National Health Care Associates, is hiring an entry-level Nursing Assistant Trainee to develop skills in providing care to residents. The trainee receives hands-on training and mentorship from experienced healthcare professionals and attends class, lab instruction, and clinical experiences to prepare for the Certified Nursing Assistant exam. The role supports residents and nursing staff in a long-term care setting. The position is located at 516 Mount Hope Avenue, Bangor, Maine, 04401. Starting pay is USD $17.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Interest in the nursing needs of older adults and chronically ill people, with the ability to work with both.
- Passion for healthcare and a desire to learn and grow in a long-term care setting.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Engage in training programs to gain knowledge of healthcare protocols and procedures.
- Learn and apply fundamental nursing skills under supervision.
- Assist nursing staff in providing daily care to residents.
- Support residents with activities of daily living, including bathing and grooming.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure residents’ well-being.
- Attend class, lab instruction, and clinical experiences to prepare for the Certified Nursing Assistant exam.
