About The Position
Stillwater Medical is seeking a Nurse Assistant (NA) or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) for its 5th Floor Surgical Unit. The role assists in the care and support of patients using technical nursing skills. The position is PRN, with 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Holidays are worked on a rotation and weekends as needed. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant training course or acceptable patient care experience in a hospital, nursing home, or related health care facility.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to function in stressful situations.
- Current CPR card or completion within 30 days of employment.
- Strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing.
- Adequate vision, or vision correctable with glasses or contacts, to read and write.
- Ability to hear, or hearing correctable with devices, and to converse with others in person and over the phone.
- Ability to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care.
- Ability to frequently lift at least 60 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
- Fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to provide care, such as performing finger-stick blood sugars and vital signs, feeding patients, and handling instruments.
- Ability to work in a latex-burdened environment.
