About The Position
Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants provide compassionate patient care and support patients through recovery. The position is PRN/per diem on the night shift, with 12-hour shifts, at the Davenport, Iowa location. Compensation is $20.00 per hour, with night and weekend shift differentials. The hospital provides an extensive Nursing Assistant orientation program.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Hospital experience as a nursing assistant.
- Nursing assistant certification.
- Experience in a related field, such as medical assisting, or active enrollment as an RN student.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
- Participate in hourly rounds.
- Transport patients to and from treatment centers as needed and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
- Clean instruments and equipment, including bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
- Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
- Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
