About The Position

Anoka Technical College is seeking an unlimited full-time Nursing Assistant faculty member. This position instructs students using the Minnesota State Curriculum for Nursing Assistants in preparation to take the state competency exam and register for the Minnesota Department of Health Nursing Assistant Registry. Part of the faculty role is to assess student competencies as described in the curriculum to support student success. Additional duties to include but are not limited to: Deliver nursing assistant instruction in multiple modalities and different times of day while supporting diverse learning styles. Maintain consistent communication with students through office hours, email, and telephone. Participate in departmental maintenance, program and curricular meetings, accreditation, and information sessions. Develop curriculum/lesson plans to maintain relevancy with the status of the field and accrediting body. Support the mission, vision, and core values of Anoka Technical College. Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice through inclusive educational practices. Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean, Vice President or President

Requirements

  • Diploma or associate degree in nursing.
  • Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience of direct patient care, one year must be in long term care.
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent experience teaching Nursing Assistant classes and in-person clinical instruction.
  • Experience working as a Nursing Assistant in a Long-Term Care Facility.
  • Availability to teach day, afternoon, evening and occasional weekend classes.
  • Knowledge of K-12 partnerships.
  • Dedication to teaching and student learning, providing quality education that emphasize college-level standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Completion of the Train the Trainer for Nursing Assistant Instructors course.
