About The Position

This position is responsible for providing care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in a nursery setting. The role involves changing diapers, ensuring personal hygiene and safety, feeding, comforting, and playing with children. Key responsibilities include monitoring children's behavior and activities to ensure their health and safety, facilitating learning and Christian discipleship, responding calmly to emergencies, and maintaining a safe and clean nursery environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required
• Six months experience caring for babies in a nursery environment OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Ability to meet attendance requirements
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language
• Ability to observe children and endure their safety
• Ability to lift, hold, and carry infants and toddlers on a continuous basis weighing up to 25 lbs
• Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis
• This position requires a level 2 background screening

Responsibilities

• Provides care for infants, toddlers and preschoolers in a nursery
• Changes babies' diapers and clothes and ensures their personal hygiene and safety
• Feeds and cleans babies, toddlers and preschoolers
• Comforts and plays with children
• Monitors all children’s behavior and activities in a constant manner ensuring their health and safety at all times
• Facilitates times of learning and exploration for children, providing for times of Christian discipleship
• Responds to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner; notifies appropriate management and parents of any problems or incidents
• Ensures the nursery is maintained in a safe and clean manner at all times
