About The Position
Dean Highland Elementary in Waco, Texas, a public charter school, is currently seeking a School Nurse for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role involves providing comprehensive health services to students and staff within the school environment.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed nurse.
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant health laws and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and school personnel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate health records.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with electronic health records.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) or pediatric advanced life support (PALS).
Responsibilities
- Perform hearing, vision, and other health screenings.
- Treat students and staff as needed.
- Develop care plans for students with ongoing conditions.
- Consult with teachers, school administrators, and other school staff regarding student care.
- Administer medication.
- Monitor student immunization records.
- Educate students and staff on health procedures.
- Help students who have feeding disabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
