About The Position

This position involves lifeguard duties and may include office tasks, supporting the operation of facilities under prescribed operating procedures, running errands, and performing other duties as required by the Director of Rec Sports. To be considered for this role, candidates must be able to pass a prerequisite swim test.

Requirements

• Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing (using front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination).
• Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs (hands under armpits).
• Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds: swim 20 yards, surface dive to retrieve a 10-pound object at a depth of 7 to 10 feet, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to the starting point with the object, and exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
