About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse is responsible for administering medication to clients as outlined in medication administration policy. This includes the control, counting, and appropriate documentation of onsite medication. The role also involves educating clients on the use, purpose, side effects, and other information relating to medication-assisted treatment. Additionally, the nurse will verify medication orders with the physician, transcribe physician's orders, and assist in the admission process, documenting substance use diagnosis as required.

Requirements

• Must be a Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Must have a current CPR certificate or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in substance abuse/mental health field or an acute care inpatient healthcare environment preferred.
