The Triage Nurse is a professional registered nurse with oncology-specific clinical knowledge who provides individualized care and clinical guidance to patients, families, and caregivers. Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, the nurse triages oncology patient calls and supports ongoing healthcare needs. The role includes symptom management, care coordination, patient education, clinical documentation, and assistance with complex care needs, with the goal of supporting optimal patient outcomes and reducing emergency department visits and inpatient readmissions. The nurse works with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary cancer care team, and may provide coverage for the infusion floor or shot room as needed. The position requires an active multistate or Florida single-state registered nurse license, BLS certification, at least an associate degree in nursing, and relevant RN and oncology experience. A bachelor's degree and Oncology Certified Nurse certification are preferred. The role requires strong oncology triage and assessment skills, effective communication, critical thinking, organization, and the ability to work autonomously with a virtual team in a remote work environment. FCS describes its employee offering as including professional opportunities, career advancement, training, competitive wages, and comprehensive benefits. Employment offers are contingent on background screening; new hires must receive required vaccinations unless an exemption is approved and are subject to drug testing.
