Under the direct supervision of the RN, Nurse Technician I (NTI) is responsible for administering direct patient care as assigned as a member of the nursing team. The nurse technician responds to patient requests and performs other nursing functions to ensure optimum patient care. This position communicates changes in patient care to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner, has access to the locked Clean Utility/Meds/Nourishments rooms for access to patient nourishments and care items, and demonstrates competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the population of patients served. The Nurse Technician reports to the Director of People Development and the assigned department manager, with oversight provided by the People Development team. The Nurse Technician I role is designed to prepare nursing students for progression within Parrish Healthcare’s nursing career pathway. Eligibility for advancement to the Nurse Technician II position is contingent upon successful completion of Nurse Technician I requirements, demonstrated competency and performance, and a commitment to pursuing participation in Parrish Healthcare’s Nurse Residency Program following graduation and licensure.
