About The Position

The Nurse Technician provides fundamental nursing care, including personal and restorative care, to patients according to predefined guidelines and a plan of care established by a Registered Nurse. The work is performed under the direct supervision of Registered Nurse staff and in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures and policies, accreditation requirements, and governing guidance for health care employees. The position is at Singing River Ocean Springs Hospital and offers day shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) or night shifts (7 p.m.–7 a.m.).

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in or have graduated from an NLN School of Nursing.
• Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
• Must complete appropriate-level de-escalation training by the end of the 90-day position orientation.
• Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to receive and provide information in person and by telephone.
• Must demonstrate assessment and decision-making abilities, emotional stability, attention to detail, multitasking ability, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Must maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships.
• Must possess customer service skills and professional etiquette.
• Must be proficient using a computer and keyboard, telephone, fax, MS Outlook, and Word.
• Must be able to work assigned schedules, with possible changes to off days, shifts, or weekends according to hospital needs.
• Must be able to remain active for extended periods and meet the stated physical, sensory, and mobility demands of the position.
